About Me

headshot_6.jpgFILMMAKER  :  DUNCAN

With a passion for photography, filmmaking, and theatre I enjoy delving into all forms of creative expression where there is an attempt at communication between different peoples and cultures.

I have created and directed an animated children’s program entitled “LAND OF Zi,” which has taken me to the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival 2008, and to Italy for Cartoons on the Bay 2008.  The show was also nominated at Anima Mundi Cellular 2008 (Brazil), AniMadrid 2008 (Spain) and CINANIMA 2008 (Portugal).  Business aspects had me  travel to Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai, and also to Cannes, France, to attend MIPCOM in 2008.

I am a part-time adjunct faculty member at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where I teach a course in the Character Animation Dept. entitled “Acting for Animators.” I also teach “Directing Voice-over Talent” in the Experimental Animation Dept.

I recently gave a series of lectures at DreamWorks Animation on the Meisner acting technique.
